German Commercial for Glasses, sexy Video

This is the second crazy german commercial I see that has a similar "feeling" over it. The past one was something with a family listening to the radio and the song is pretty naughty and the parents start digging without knowing they sing really bad words...

Today we have a commercial for glasses, and man I promise this guy wish his wife had bought glasses a long time ago. Wonder what kind of people make up these cool commercial ideas, they got to have the best job in the world! (Except for looking at videos and posting them here at Vidly).

Subaru Forester Sumo Car Wash Video

Holy crap Subaru of Canada have gone mad and created a truly disturbing ad featuring a bunch of Sumo wrestlers.

The ad is a twist of the classic sexy topless babes covered in foam washing a car in a very hot way but instead of the sexy babes they have a bunch of sumo wrestlers showing their love for the Subaru Forester.

In this ad you will see big sumo wrestlers throwing soaked sponges at each other and then flipping their hair back in slow motion.

Chevrolet Aveo Transformer Video

Could this be a auto commercial that tries to bully Citroen and Nissan for their transformer commercial and could they even be bullying the Transformers movie?

I'm not sure if the intention is to be sarcastic on the expense of the recent transformer hype that have been going around but with the short and concise tagline "GET REAL" is sure seem like this is the case.

The commercial features two buddies approaching their cars at the same time when the first buddies car transformers and starts break dancing. A while later the second guy drives of in this Chevrolet Aveo. Much later the first guy's car is still break dancing and refuses to give up so that he can just go home.

Clearly if your car behaved like this on a regular basis you would get tired of it rather quickly.

My conclusion is that this might be a very good way of marketing the least interesting car on the market because it appeal to the rational side of humans.
Dutch Insurance Commercial Video

A funny dutch insurance commercial involving a guy getting loads of needles placed all over his body (Acupuncture, healing technique from china)

With 100's of needles something unexpected happens and the video takes another turn... I feel really really sorry for the guy that just wanted to be cured from something...

Max Havelaar Ad Video

Max Havelaar is a Swiss non-profit organization to promote fair trade products. Fair trade represents a strategy for fighting poverty and promoting sustainability, the movement advocates payment of a fair price as well as social and environmental standards.

This ad don't have much to do with the work of the Max Havelaar organization but I think it could certainly do the work of creating awareness about the organization and perhaps spread the word about fair trade, and since I'm writing about it and you are reading it they are one step closer to acheiveing their goal I think.

What can we say about the ad, well is' one different way of shopping. I guess you have all seen the beer pong videos and this is something similar but in this ad they throw stuff from the grocery store around and into the shopping carts.

The ad is in French so you might not understand anything of if but you will still appreciate the video.

Dove Onslaughter by Greenpeace Video

Dove sure is in no luck these days and this time it's Greenpeace that wants us to take action against the company.

But before we continue on this track we need some history. Last year dove created some very successful viral videos.

The first video was the Dove evolution which showed how the beauty industry manipulates the models to look perfect. The evolution video spawned the highly viral parody Slob evolution.

The second video released by Dove was the Dove onslaught ad which had the tagline "Talk to your daughter before the beauty industry does". I praised this ad because it told parents to educate their kids about beauty and reality before the beauty industry did. And as i pointed out in the post it's hypocritical because Dove is a big part of the beauty industry.

The Greenpeace response
Now we are back in the present and yesterday Greenpeace released an ad called Dove Onslaughter which is basically a parody on the Dove onslaught video. The tagline is a bit different in the Greenpeace version though as it says Talk to Dove before they destroy Paradise Forests. The reason Greenpeace is doing this is because the palm oil plantations are wiping out the Indonesian lowland forests and this palm oil is used in Dove products.

How can I help?
Greenpeace have created a special Dove page where you can easy send a letter to Unilever (the company behind Dove) telling them that you want them to stop destroying the forests of Indonesia. I urge you to support Greenpeace in this campaign.

I would call this response from Greenpeace a slam dunk, whats your opinion, we want to get an active discussion running here.

Vigorsol - Ice Cap Video

This is a new ad from Vigorsol, weather it's named Ice Cap or not is a mystery but it certainly could be titled that.

The theme is the same as in the Farting squirrel ad that we featured some time ago. But in this video the Squirrel have made his way to Antarctica where the penguins are in danger because of the global warming. The solution is off course to give them a Vigorsol each and then they can fart themselves some new ice.

BMW Performance Parts Video

I guess this ad for BMW's performance parts is great in the way that it features some good looking cars and have some really nice images. But after watching it I'm not sure if it said anything about the performance parts except perhaps that they look better then the stock parts, could this be the case.

Actually I believe that the BMW performance parts are more about show then go and thats why they have made this ad more about showing the looks of the parts then about how they perform.

But hey we love cars and especially good looking ones so there is no wrong in this ad.

Sony - Foam City Video

Sony continues to do spectacular commercials in urban settings and the last example is the Foam City ad that you are about to watch.

This type of ads started with the Bravia - Bouncing balls which have been followed up by the Bravia - Paint and Bravia - Clay rabbits. But this time the ad is not for the Bravia product lineup but for Sony's cameras.

Foam City was shoot in Miami where 120 million gallons (450 million liters) of soap bubbles where set free on the streets. To create this commercial the creators had to build the worlds largest foam machine which had a capacity of 500,000 gallons (1.8 million liters) of foam per minute. Thats some fantastic numbers but the result is even better, the whole video looks almost unreal.

I don't think this video is quite as good as the "Bouncing balls" or the "Paint" ad's but it's definitely better then the "Clay rabbits" and with the first two ad's Sony sure did set the standards high so all in all this is a great commercial in my opinion.

Sony have a microsite for the commercial.

Via digg, Gizmodo

Behind the VISA Running Man ad Video

Remember the VISA running man ad that we published a couple of weeks ago? if not you might have seen it on the TV by now and know what I'm talking about. If not go check the video out before continuing here.

In this "behind the scenes" video we will see how the ad was produced on location in Argentina, also the creators form Saatchi & Saatchi talks about the ideas behind the ad and the future of advertising.

One subject that is discussed in the video is if the nudity was to much or if it was just the right trick to get people to talk about the commercial. Personally I don't find the nudity disturbing in any way but one thing that struck me is that this commercial would have been so banned by the television networks if it was a woman running in her birthday suite for 30 seconds on prime time TV. What do you think would this commercial have been inappropriate by just swapping the male for a female? Start discussing in the comments right away.

The people we get to meet in the video are Graham Kibble-White a TV Critic and Kate Stanners from Saatchi & Saatch who was the one given the task of creating the ad.

We don't know anything about Frank's Sparkling Beverage but this is definitely one of the most brutally honest commercials we have ever seen.

A lucky man and his young girlfriend is walking down the beach with a perfect romantic sunset in the background when the voice over tells you that nothing beats a perfect sunset and a nice cold ginger and lime, except nailing a woman half your age.

Well I told you it was brutally honest.

This is a commercial for the Australian company WhizBiz which give women the freedom to pee anywhere a man could.

But the most interesting about this is company is this hilarious commercial of how to get rid of a one night stand. When you as a woman wake up next to a one night stand that you want to get rid of in a hurry just go to the bathroom and use the WhizBiz to pee standing up letting the one night stand think he has slept with a transvestite and he will be gone in no time.
BMW M3 Revolution Ad Video

We know that BMW creates some of the worlds best engines and that they constantly win engine award after engine award for these engines. But how do you create a good ad that delivers this message in a interesting way?

I think that BMW have cracked this with the Revolution ad that you are about to see here. This ad was created without the use of computer generated effects so what you see is the real deal going on inside a BMW E92 M3 V8 engine.

To create this ad three complete engines were sacrificed. Manifolds were cut, cylinders shaved and lighting holes were drilled. Only the preparations took 2 weeks and then 80 hours was spent filming the injection and combustion process, so it was evidently not an easy task to accomplish this project. Here is a short video about the making of the BMW Revolution ad.

The result that you see in the video is what I call truly incredible, think that this is happening all the time when your driving your car!

Xbox 360: GrandSlam Hunting Video

This GrandSlam Hunting ad is the funniest video I have seen this year and I watch quite a few videos every day.

GrandSlam Hunting is as the title suggests a hunting game and it's for the Xbox 360 console.

The ad is about two rednecks out in the forest to track down and shoot some deer but the track they are following turn out to be nothing more then a goat. Disappointed by the hunt they set up their camp and start roasting Marshmallows when one of the rednecks come up with the bright idea of playing a deer and soon the other redneck is in the game. Yes then the thing you expect to happen really happens, and even though this is obvious the looks of the redneck that is not shoot is priceless.

Tagline:
It's safer on the sofa.

Staples - Office Olympics Video

This is one of those ads thats funny because they are pretty much stupid, and in this case it's also funny because of another mans misery.

The ad is for Staples Office Supplies and it's about a man that probably have a very important task to complete with a rather tight deadline. What happens, well the rest of the office is low on work or something and decides to do some office Olympics. Needless to say this is rather disturbing and the man with the deadline needs to find a way to get out of the office.

Well off course Staples Office Supplies have the solution in the form of a laptop at a great price.

Adobe Finish Sauna Video

Adobe really have created the perfect commercial for their Photoshop Elements product.

Two couples are having dinner together and enjoying some good food and fine wine when the invited couple wants to see the first couples photos from their recent trip to Finland. The man in the first couple starts handing out the photos and soon passes out one and states that it was the highlight of the trip since it's of them in a real Finish Sauna. The woman in the invited couple first gets the photo and judging by the expression on her face there is something extraordinary about that photo. Watch the great ad and you will see what it was she saw in the photo.

Here is two quotes from the video about the photo:
Doesn't it hurt?
You could jack a car with that.

This is an old Yellow Pages ad where the character James quickly needs to find a children's hairdresser after he made a mess of cutting his young niece's hair.

Fun to see him solve the mess he made and a smart way to incorporate something as boring as the yellow pages without making the ad borring.

I hope you all got fooled yesterday (April 1st) and that you got some great laughs about all these insane jokes spread in newspapers and on the internet.

In this BBC ad for the iPlayer BBC have discovered a new Penguin specie that unlike other penguins have the ability to fly. During the winter months they take use of their wings and fly to the rain forests of South America where they spend the winter basking in the sun.
Beast Inside is a Mercedes commercial and it features a fantastic AMG performance car and a freaking monster.

If you ask me it's a nice twist to illustrate the cars powerful engine in the way of a big beast. Perhaps it's not that good that the beast can be tamed by a broom but then a gain a Mercedes is supposed to be a civilized car and that applies to their performance cars as well.

This video puts the product image side to side with an actual photo of the product so that you can easily see the difference for yourself.
bwin: Real Men Video

What we have her is a unique (well I think so, correct me if I'm wrong) betting company commercial.

The commercial features a mob of angry women who have had enough of smelling like sweet flowers and they want real men, men that build things, break things and take risks. And if your a real men you play for real with bwin.

The commercial is not a masterpiece but I think it stands out from the rest of the betting commercials and thats a great thing in my opinion.

This is a video produced for a company called Lawson and its titled Battle of the Machines. To fully understand the meaning of the video you should know that the Lawson motto is "Because simpler is better" which I think this video reflects in a really clever way.

The video shows three different people that tries to rescue a man that has fallen down an abandoned wall, two of the three care more about status and ultimately theme self while the third keeps it simple and ultimately puts the man in need first. This video is obviously produced to show that Lawson is a company that puts the client first and foremost and keeps things simple to solve the real problem, if the is the truth I don't know.

This is a very clever viral video that i really think works sine this video have received over 1.000.000 views in YouTube and is only one in a series of video.

This time it's a commercial for Trigon which features a really cute kid that talks with a really funny slang (you will watch it more than twice). The best part is absolutely when he says "He kicked him in the penis. He was injured. Injured bad".
On March 29th 2008, Earth Hour 2008 aims to turn every light of in an array of cities around the world in order to raise awareness of what is happening to our planet.

Last year the whole of San Francisco supported the initiative and turned the lights of for one hour. The act of turning of the lights saves a lot of energy but the biggest value lies probably in the raised awareness of climate changes. Hopefully this will cause global companies, governments and other with great power over others to realize that they have to tackle the challenge of climate change when so many citizens are taking a stand.

Visit the official earth hour website to see what cities are participating this year and for information on when to switch of when to switch of your lights.

Everyone participating leave a comment bellow, I hereby pledge my support and will keep my lights shut of for 1 hour on March 29th 2008.

Running Man is the title of a tv advert for Visa which was produced to show that Life flows better with Visa, this is probably true until you run out of money or credit.

The running man is truly in a hurry and for a god reason, he uses his credit to buy food, clothes, a moped, a suit, a haircut and a cleanup, but why is he running?

Nice commercial with a good story and nice execution, more commercials should be of this quality.
Pot Noodle has done a pretty cool commercial recently, where they play on the recent popular similar ads from leading brands. I talk about the "tipping videos", where you start by tipping one thing that tips on the next thing, that makes that tip over and tip the next thing. I know that we have had some of these here in Sweden lately, but this ad is even more extreme.

The Perfect Man Video

The perfect man is a commercial from GQ Magazine and it's about everything the perfect man should be and it presents it in a very humerus way.

As a man I agree with the concussion that there is no perfect man, at least not if you have all these requirements presented in the commercial.

Do we have any man reading this that fit all these requirements? Or do we have any woman who believes there is such a man?

Trunk Monkey Compilation Video

The Trunk Monkey was originally a concept created by Sean Sosik-Hamor for a Subaru Impreza Club. In this original concept the trunk monkey was a small stuffed animal placed in the trunk which came alive and jumped from side to side to help distribute weight during enthusiastic driving. Later the Suburban Auto Group picked up the concept and created their own version of the trunk monkey.

This is a compilation containing some of the Suburban trunk monkey ads, so watch the videos and get yourself a good laugh.

Bizarre foods commercial Video

This is a commercial for Bizarre foods which is aired on the Travel Channel.

The video features a vending machine loaded with some pretty unusual items, or what do you think about a cow heart as a snack during your break at the office?

I guess this is the opposite to the Coca-Cola Happiness Factory, what do you think?

Nissan Jumping Boobs Commercial Video

Sometimes traditional companies create unexpected commercials. This ad is about a year old, but still very nice... The Car company Nissan have some help from a bikini girl with unnormal talets... Jumping boobs.

How the breasts are jumping is pretty obvious, but it's fun to see a "boring" traditional company take this kind of ad strategies. The words bounce bounce are singing inside my head at the moment.

Super Bowl Ads Video

What's the biggest TV event? From what we have heared it's Super Bowl with over 100 Million wievers world wide (with the main audience in US).

With that many people watching companies gets interested in promoting their brand and stuff to the viewers. One ad spot at 30 seconds go for 2.7 Million Dollars if we are not wrong informed. (Vidly ads at super bowl will have to wait a year or two...)

Watch some of the ads that will be on Super Bowl and hear some interesting stuff about their ideas and what other thinks.

The first company is GoDaddy.com (where we buy all our domain names btw). They us the Indie Start Danica Patrick for alot of their ads, and it's pretty obvious why. She is absolutely stunning. The cool thing about Godaddys Super Bowl ad is that it's an ad for their ad online. They give you a teaser where Danica Patrick shows you some sexy moves and you get the message that the rest is online their website. So Godaddy's idea is to promote their website in a really smart way.

30 Seconds for 2.7 Million Dollars pushes the ad companies to give their clients the best possible value for the ad. And Godaddy's ad is a great example of new ideas.

Some of the other Super Bowl advertisers are Pepsi, Coca Cola, Audi, Bridgestone and Fedex.

Just imagine the amount of money this generates... It's hard to see that kind of numbers...

In my head Carlsberg is just beer, but in this comercial they have used a cute squirrel do kick ups with a nut for them.

Carlsberg's Sport Drink must be really good if they can get a squirrel to do football tricks for them.

Really cute and different ad I think, wonder in what countries it is aired. Not at our country from what I have seen lately on tv.

I am Canadian Moon Ad Video

During 2001 and 2005 Molson Breweries used the slogan I am Canadian and it was it was used extensively in a extremely popular ad campaign that centers around Canadian nationalism.

In this I am Canadian ad we see what really happened when the Americans landed on the Moon, of course they were not alone the Canadians went at the same time and landed just beside the Americans, this soon appeared to be a problem for the Americans.

Beware of things made in October is a series of commercials that highlights why it might be unwise to buy any product manufactured in October.

Why would it be unwise to buy products manufactured in October? Well due to the MLB playoffs the factory workers might be a bit distracted and the products not assembled as they should and therefore not work as intended.

Made in USA got a whole new meaning?

This health education ad is believed to be from 1988 give or take and was used to promote safe sex. The old man in the video can't understand why today's kids complain about using a condom since today's condoms are so much better then the one he used for the whole of his life.
Bouygues Telecom Ad Video

The French telecom company Bouygues Telecom is doing a promotion raid for the new features available in their network and to market this they have created a series of commercials that are really great.

In this first video all the people from Mathieu's phone book is gathered at the same place creating a fun mix of dentists, roller blade models, parents and a number he can't identify.

This is only the first ad in the campaign, to see the others follow the links bellow.

LOL, everyone in the phone book are wandering around with giant masks and LOL signs, because he is able to use Windows Live Messenger.

One Again, a guy from the phone book tries to pick up the two American roller blade models who are there because of the great international rates.

Early Morning, a service man from Bouygues Telecom arranges for a replacement phone for Mathieu which makes ti possible for all the people in the phone book to come back.

They are all definitely worth a watch but I think the first is the best one when all the contacts is getting to know each other.

Slowest Audi Ever Built Video

We love this very beautiful and relaxed car commercial, our judgment might be a bit colored by the fact that we love the Audi R8 in all it's simplicity.

Audi is probably the most creative car manufacturer when it comes to creating commercials for it's cars and I think this is because they go the extra mile to get beyond that obvious commercials showing the new car going really fast around corners with lots of smiling people in it. Who will ever forget the Audi commercials where they drive up the ski jump, if you want a fast overview of audi commercials watch this Audi commercial compilation it's pretty great.

Once again over to the slowest Audi ever built, as you can guess the Audi R8 is not the slowest car on the road but the slowest car to build. It's slow to build since so many things are hand made and tailored to fit perfectly together. This commercial is probably my vote for the best car commercial of 2007 but I haven't given it much thought so don't take my word for it.

Guinness Tipping Point Domino Video

Guinness Tipping Point is the company's most expensive and complex TV ad in its 80-year marketing history. What you see in the video above have costed £10 million which is roughly $21 million. Tipping Point is a follow up to the now classic Good Things Come to Those Who Wait series of commercials.

The video shows hundreds of villagers comming toghether to start a domino effect consisting of 6.000 pieces. The domino consists of things like cars, paint cans, books, flaming hay bales and various other items.

The advert culminates in a giant pint of Guinness being fashioned out of books.

Facts about the domino
• The advert was shot in a remote village called Iruya, in northern Argentina, with a population of about 1,000 people.
• The scenes were created by world record breaking domino experts, Domino Domain.
• Setting up the dominos on the table from the start of the advert took three experts two days, but only 14 seconds to topple.
• Toppling items included: 6,000 dominoes, 10,000 books, 400 tyres, 75 mirrors, 50 fridges, 45 wardrobes and 6 cars.
• 24 hours of video was captured.
• The car sequence was successfully shot in just one take.
